長年に渡り茶澤音學館でのレギュラー、そして7インチレコードに特化した’45sパーティDonuts#45のDJ/オーガナイズを担当して来たSouta Rawは、アンダーグラウンドディスコを軸に世界中の新旧問わず点在するダンスミュージックを織り交ぜるプレイスタイル。現在は毎週火曜日のAoyamaTunnelをレギュラーに、都内を中心にDJ/パーティ・オーガナイザーとして活動中。
A longtime regular member of the Chazawaongakukan and the promoter and DJ of the “45s party that exclusively plays only 7 Inches, Donuts#45, Souta Raw’s style of play weaves together dance music from around the world, old and new, with underground disco at its core. Currently, he regularly DJs at Aoyama Tunnel every Tuesday and is active spinning and organizing parties in Tokyo.
Dominic Dawson (London)
90年代のUKクラブ・ミュージックの黎明期から、DJハーヴィー、イジェット・ボーイズなどを輩出したディスコ・ダブ・シーンから同時期に現れ、主にDJD名義でプロデューサーとDJとして活躍してきたドミニック・ドーソンは、今までDefected (Glitterbox、4 To The Floor)、Strictly Rhythm、King Street、Sony (Directions)、Other、Guidance、Noid Recordings、Zoom、Session Recordingsなど、数多くのレーベルから多々の作品をリリースしながら、リミキサーとしてKyodai、Chaz Jankel、 Arthur Baker、First Choice、Al Green、Odyssey、Imagination、A Man Called Adam、Kenny Hawkes、MutabarukaやJacob Collier等のアーティストのリミックスも手がける。最近国内のハウス・レーベル、Unknown SeasonからリリースされたLoftsoul x Miruga「See Line Woman feat. Fae Simon」のリミックスも手がけた。また、東京からNY、南ア、ヨーロッパの主要な都市のクラブで過去25年以上に渡り、プレイしてきたヴェテランDJとしても活躍してきた。80年代半ばから地元ブライトンでレゲエやアンダーグラウンド・パーティを開催し、DJ活動を開始。1987年にロンドンに引っ越しし、音楽の方向性をダンス・ミュージックへ転向し、実兄のプロデューサー、Crispin Glover自身のMood & Rhythm名義の楽曲、「Lick The Whistle」のリミックスを手がけ、音楽制作活動を開始。また、伝説的なZoom Recordsで働いていた93年の頃に彼は、A Man Called Adam主催のOtherから初のソロ作「Dub Myself」を出し、その後にDimitri From ParisやAshley BeedleなどトップDJから絶賛された「Systems Activated」など様々なソロ作品をリリースし、新鋭ハウス・プロデューサーとして注目を浴び始める。また他のプロデューサーとコラボレーションをするようになり、初の共作にはZoomの同僚だったRob MelloとReel Houzeを結成し、親友であるあのDJハーヴィー がパーカッションを叩いた名曲「The Chance」を発表。この楽曲は発売してから20数年経っても今だに人気があり、フランソワ・ケヴォーキアン (『Masterpiece: Created by Francois K』(Ministry Of Sound/ 2008年）などのミックスCDやコンピにも選曲され、Optimo Musicから同楽曲は2014年に再発された。ドミニックはまた、自身が手がけた楽曲を全英ポップ・チャート入りする成功も収めている。自身の名義、Hydraulic Dogsの楽曲「Shake It Baby」は、世界のダンス・ミュージック界で絶大な影響を誇るピート・トング主催のBBCのRadio 1の番組で紹介されたきっかけ、大ヒットし、全英チャートのトップ30入りを果たし、また2003年に出た大沢伸一のミックスCD『Fearless “The House”』にも収録。
Dominic hails as a DJ from the mid 80's putting on reggae jams & underground parties in his home town Brighton. A move to London in 1987 saw a change of musical direction towards dance music. His first foray into production was a remix for his brother Crispin's Mood & Rhythm project entitled 'Lick The Whistle' for his own imprint Amnixiel Musick. In '93 while working at the legendary Zoom Records In Camden Town, Dominic recorded his first solo release 'Dub Myself' for A Man Called Adam's label Other Records, at who's studio he cut his teeth utilising his knowledge and passion for dub reggae & dance music. He went on to produce and release various solo projects for them such as "Systems Activated" which got major props from the likes of Dimitri From Paris & Ashley Beedle et al. His first collaboration was with fellow Zoom employee Rob Mello when they started the ground breaking project Reel Houze, producing dance floor bombs such as "The Chance" which Dominic later remixed for his "Dubplates" series utilising good friend DJ Harvey on percussion, which reached Iconic status and 20+ years later is still in demand for licensing from DJ legends such as François Kevorkian (House Classics compilation on Ministry Of Sound). Dominic has had national top 30 chart success with his Hydraulic Dogs moniker when Sony picked up his huge underground hit 'Shake It Baby' in 2002, after Pete Tong championed it on his weekly Radio 1 show. Dominic is a DJ of note having spun at clubs from Tokyo to NY, from South Africa to most major cities in Europe for the last 25+ years. Dominic has released music on many labels including Defected (Glitterbox, 4 To The Floor), Strictly Rhythm, King Street, Sony (Directions), Other (A Man Called Adam), Guidance, to name a few. He has always been in demand as a remixer for artists as diverse as The Chemical Brothers, Chaz Jankel (of Ian Dury & The Blockheads fame) Arthur Baker, First Choice, Al Green, Odessey, Imagination, A Man Called Adam, Kenny Hawkes, Mutabaruka & Jacob Collier to name a very few.
Samuel Bruce (Canebrake / Mallorquin / Palms & Charms)
サムは80年代後半にイギリス南東部でDJ活動を開始。1997年に香港に移り、ジョン・ミニー（ロンドンのベティ・フォード・クリニック出身）と共にTwist & Crawlパーティを立ち上げ、香港で唯一のバレアリック／コスミック・ディスコ・ナイトを提供。
2010年からは東京に拠点を移し、青山Zer0やBonoboなど、東京中のクラブでDJを行う。2014年、弟のバーナビー・ブルースと共に東京／香港を拠点とするレーベル「Palms & Charmsをスタート。主にこのレーベルからCanebrakeとMallorquín名義でオリジナル楽曲を制作し、リリースしている。Canebrakeからの最新リリースは、今年4月にPalms & Charmsからリリースされた「Major Barbara / Bike Ride 6am」（Max EssaとJansen JardinのMinus Yogisのリミックスを含む）。彼はまた、何日も踊れるダンスの持ち主でもある。
Samuel began DJing in the south east of England in the late eighties. Moving to Hong Kong in 1997, he launched the Twist & Crawl parties along with John Minney (Betty Ford Clinic, London), offering the only balearic/cosmic disco night in the city.
Based in Tokyo since 2010, Samuel has DJed at venues across the city including Aoyama Zer0 and Bonobo. In 2014 he started the Tokyo/Hong Kong-based record label Palms & Charms, with his brother Barnaby Bruce. He produces original music under the names Canebrake and Mallorquín. His most recent Canebrake release was Major Barbara / Bike Ride 6am (incl. remixes from Max Essa and Jansen Jardin’s Minus Yogis) on Palms & Charms in April this year. He also has dance moves for days.
